Climate Displacement Narratives

We track climate displacement narratives as the false, politically motivated, or manipulated stories surrounding people forced to move because of environmental disasters.

In Bangladesh, a country hit hard by climate change, these narratives often twist the reality of what displaced populations are actually going through. We research how information disorder makes climate-displaced communities even more vulnerable, especially when bad actors falsely label them as illegal economic migrants.

Accurate data on climate mobility is required to craft real solutions for displacement. We address this by tracking how false narratives about climate refugees move through online spaces and skew policy.

Through deep migration studies and community engagement, we work to reset the discourse.

We provide advisory support to governments, pushing for evidence-based policies that reflect the true nature of climate displacement rather than distorted online rumours.
