Fact-checking

0 entries All research themes CDMR home

We build fact-checking infrastructure as the institutional networks, technological tools, and trained personnel needed to systematically verify claims made about migrants, refugees, and labour markets.

We recognise that ad-hoc fact-checking simply cannot keep pace with the online deception and digital recruitment scams.

Sustainable migration governance requires permanent, well-funded verification systems.

Regional disinformation monitoring groups emphasise that without robust infrastructure, fact-checking remains a reactive measure against information disorder rather than a proactive one (Dismislab, 2023).

We work to build this infrastructure from the ground up. We partner with local universities and media outlets to set up permanent fact-checking desks dedicated to migration and displacement.

We provide the training and methodological frameworks needed to sustain these desks. This ensures a continuous flow of verified information to counter the constant barrage of scam operations and anti-refugee narratives.
