We study migration information ecosystems as the tangled web of actors, platforms, and information flows that shape migrants' decisions.

We look at this ecosystem as a whole. We examine how families, local brokers, social media influencers, and formal government institutions all feed information to a potential migrant.

When bad actors pollute this ecosystem with information disorder, the risks of trafficking and displacement shoot through the roof.

The UN Migration Network (2022) stresses that healthy information ecosystems form the absolute foundation for informed migration governance.

We apply this framework directly to Bangladesh, mapping the digital and offline channels that push unsafe labour migration. We pinpoint the key nodes where online deception enters the system and work to fortify them.

Through partnerships with tech platforms and local NGOs, we design interventions that inject accurate, verified information straight into the ecosystem. This crowds out scam operations and supports migrants in making evidence-based choices about their futures.
